Worship is an absorption with God rather than self.

Worship is an adoring attitude toward the person, attributes, and acts of a transcendent God, and a wilful desire to conform to Him through obedience to His revealed will.

Worship is a quickening of the conscience by the holiness of God, feeding the mind with the truth of God, purging the imagination by the beauty of God, opening the heart to the love of God, and devoting the will to the purpose of God.
